ABOUT THE IMAGE: This concept sketch for the poster of Irvin Kershner's Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back was drawn by renowned artist Tom Jung. Jung designed several classic one-sheets for the original Star Wars trilogy.

This sketch depicting Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia viewing AT-ATs and snow speeders with an image of Darth Vader in the background was originally sold in by Jung through a Profiles in History auction circa July 2006, among the earliest such auctions of any Jung artwork. Rendered in graphite on white paper, the sketch is hand-labeled "Luke Leia + Solo" and "Empire" in graphite along the edge and signed by Jung along the bottom with a second mock sketch of Luke and Leia labeled "Empire" on the reverse.
